Chelsea Handler In Trouble For Chaz Bono Comments

The last comment that got Chelsea Handler in trouble was when she called Angelina Jolie a homewrecker and said of the UN ambassador, "she can rescue as many babies from as many countries as she wants to. I don't fucking believe you. She gives interviews, 'I don't have a lot of female friends.' Cause you're a fucking c***...you're a fucking bitch." But that was way back in December, and since Chelsea's never been a person to shy away from making a joke about an honest human being, she is now in trouble for making fun of Chaz Bono, who is set to dance with Lacey Schwimmer on the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars.

On Tuesday night (the day after ABC officially announced the cast), Handler sat at her table with comedians Fortune Feimster, Bill Bellamy and Jo Koy and said, "The Dancing with the Stars cast has been announced. It includes Chaz Bono, otherwise known as Chastity Bono before she got her penis." Bellamy also chimed in on the commentary, saying "I mean, who do you vote off? Him or her? I don't know which one you want to do." Koy added, "Does, does he/she have both parts? Like, like he's like 'I don't want to use my penis, let's use the vagina tonight.' Like, I don't know."

On Wednesday, The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is looking for the comedienne to apologize for her abhorrent remarks. GLAAD's Associate Director of Entertainment Media wrote on the organization's blog, "They are effectively making a mockery of anyone who identifies as transgender and contributing to the already dangerous and hostile climate many transgender people face... This is especially disheartening coming from a show whose host has made a point of being publicly supportive of the LGBT community, though the content of her show has skirted with crossing the line on more than one occasion. GLAAD calls on Handler and the show to apologize for the jokes, and asks them to invite Bono, or another transgender celebrity like Top Model’s Isis King, to make an appearance and offer viewers the chance to get to know them beyond a few hurtful punch-lines."

It's highly doubtful that Handler will apologize, because she's built a career on not apologizing. But this would definitely be a good time for her to start considering how much content of value that she is actually producing
